Full name Tortie Tamara van de Felixhoeve (11/10/78-19/9/93)

Tamie was a chocolate-point Siamese. Poor thing came as part of a package-deal to us. We went out buy two cats. When we came to the cattery, they showed us a incredibly cute male kitten called Red Rapsody or Rapsie. We fell in love with him immediately and said we would take him. Before we could inquire about a second cat, they said we could have him if we would take a three year old Siamese who had adopted this small kitten.
Tamie had had a horrible life before she came to us. She was brought by dog-owners, who had her only to show her of at cat-shows. Then, when she won a number of first prizes, they mated her. But Tamie's kittens all had Spina-bifida. She had to have a Caesarean and lost all her kittens. That was when she came to this particular cattery and immediately adopted Rapsie.
When she first came to us - she was afraid of everything. She would slide along the floor and disappear at the slightest sound. Eventually, she came to sit on my lap - That was a great day!
She went from strength to strength, and when my parents retired to
France the cats went with them. There her favourite past time was chasing dogs, catching trout and sunning herself in the plant-holder.
She died in her sleep (15 years old) and is now buried in our garden. Three years later Rapsie died as well and is buried next to her.
